The fan speeds are not working correctly. I can only get one speed out of it. Sometimes I can get all the speeds. What could be causing this? Is there a resistor pack or relay that has to be changed? This is for a 87 GTA that has a digital dash.

not sure if theres a difference with the digital dash, but on the blower housing under the hood, there should be a resistor pack. one for low, one for med low, and one for med high. they have a tendency to corrode and stop working.

Does anyone with a GTA that has the digital dash know the location of the resistor pack for the heater controls?

im guessing since the boxes under the hood are the same, itll be in the same spot. its the 4 wire plug on the top of the box. pull the plug, then unbolt the resistor pack

Re: 1987 GTA Digital Air Conditioning and Heater Controls

Replaced the resistor pack under the hood and I still only get one speed. High speed and no other speeds. I tried two different digital heater controls and the results from both were the same. I could only get the blower motor to run at high speed and no other speeds would work. Sometimes the high speed wouldn't work as well. What could be causing this?

Using a voltmeter or test light (the type for testing for voltage, not a continuity tester) probe the red wire at the relay assembly, with the key in the RUN position.

When you have the selector on any of the LO speeds is there power on that
red wire?
