VSS wire issues.

Okay, So i bought this '92 camaro from this guy i know. It has a '67 327 V8, And an '89 IROC Z tranny, The problem is the speedo doesn't work. There is no wire connecting to the tranny, And i can't find that wire for the life of me. I checked around the firewall. I checked all around the tranny. It's no where to be found. Does anyone know where that wire might be? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to TGO, prott.

The 92's speedo is electric (at the trans, the VSS wires, IIRC, would have been purple and yellow). The 89 IROC trans is mechanical and would have required a speedo cable.

My 'guess' is that when the engine was swapped, the ECM was removed, along with the speedo wiring.

Is this a 700r4 and have you located the vss on the rear tailhousing on the drivers side. Is the ecm still in the car? was this or is this a tbi or tpi car ?
