Yes i have had it tested. Does the same thing with all the other new alternators on their too. Its a powermate 190amp alternator. I also bought a optima red top and it does the same thing. I also bought a brand new starter and it still does not charge correctly

theres always a 1 wire alternator from jegs, summit, etc. just a thought. but there is a way to do what your talking about. possible fire hazard though. are you really willing to risk a fire/problem? it might suck, but find the original problem.

Well it only needs to last till the end of the month when i get my backup car out of the shop and drive it for the winter. Im doing a 383look swap this winter and replacing the whole wiring harness along with it so its not a problem.

Don't know what style alt that is based on
but in most cases you only need a resistance on a switched 12V feed
to the correct terminal to excite the Alt.
In many cases
just the resistance of the light bulb is enough
