frying alternators like eggs.

Okay, so i just fried my one week old alternator.

I have an 87 iroc z 5.7 tuned port.
The alternator was a three pin, but the previous owner deleted to fan exciter.

So i bought a two pin alternator.

Im not sure if thats an issue, but i keep killing these things.

Also, the 12v lead off the back of the alternator goes into a cylinder with three other wires coming out of it. It has "15" "20" denoted on the bottom.

Idk what that is, but if someone could tell me the name of that part, it needs replacing.

nope. Its like a little black completely enclosed cylinder before the fuseable link. 12v wire goes in from back of alt and a bunch of other wires are connected to it aswell.

I think it has to do with the fuel pump to be honest.
