computer turns on fans at programmed temps which in most cases is closer to 230F
(and your temp gauge may not be that accurate anyway)

Do fans run when you turn A/c on? ( at any engine temp )

Re: 88 350 fan switch

I thought there was a fan switch on the L98 is there a relay to turn the fans on cause In every magazine I look there are aftermarket low temp fan switches to replace the stock hi temp one

There is a temp sensor/fan switch in the passenger side cylinder head. I broke mine and replaced it with a generic one from advance auto parts. Worked like a charm.

Re: 88 350 fan switch

Ook thanks alot also I notice that the single wire burnt up from sitting on the header does the switch come with a new wire connector as well. An for my last question which relay is it over by the radiator for the fan so I can replace that as well so I can get these fans to come on

Re: 88 350 fan switch

I had to trace the wire back from the sensor to the relay to get the right one. I believe the hypertech switch (it brings the fans on at a cooler temp) comes with a connector that you just crimp on. Or if you want to use the original sensor/switch you can replace it with a new one
