my son has a 2003 chevy 1/2 ton V-6 truck. the truck is base model, 5-speed, manual windows/locks, no alarm,m etc. he ran out of gas and coasted into the driveway (what luck) and now the truck will not start. we put 2 gallons of gas in it and tried to crank it and the starter will not even "click". we have checked all fuses, tried to boost start, cleaned battery posts and terminals, put the battery on the charger overnight just in case AND we have even tried to pull start the thing. I figured pull starting would do the trick but that doesnt even work. everything has power when you turn the ignigtion over to the start position but there is NOTHING happening. any suggestions.

never mind...i thought we looked at all the fuses. i thought that running out of gas was just too much of a coincidence with this thing not starting so i ended up looking at the fuel pump fuse under the hood and found the problem. i was almost certian that i had heard the fuel pump "start" earlier so i had decided to not even look there. lesson learned, if you run out of gas you might blow a fuel pump fuse in the process

Interesting, my old 88 camaro ran out of gas and wouldn't start, the fuel pump would pump gas then the car would try to run it would shake and die, then when i got it running the whole car was shaking due to a terrible misfire i was so sure my engine was gone since it was smoking out the exhaust manifold and shaking but as luck would have it, i started it again 5 hours later it was sputtering a bit then i took it for a drive to the bottom of the street and backup it started to run better, i let it sit overnight it started running great the next day when me and my friend were about to take it for a drive, the exhaust manifold stopped smoking and it ran like a top again.
