HELP With Camaro Dash lights (1/2 on 1/2 off?!)

So None of my dash lights were working, Replaced the fuse and tore out a bunch of wires the previous owner had left half connected to all kinds of stuff and voila! The lights came on. Trans indicator, heater light, under dash lights, dome and map lights all work correctly. My gauge lights seemed dim so I took the gauges out and all of the bulbs look fine. Yet only about half of them work. After I put the cluster back in I discovered I have a seat belt chime (thanks to thirdgen.org for that lol) but i lost my turn signal lights now (in the cluster, exterior lights all work fine). I havent tried replacing all of the bulbs yet but I replaced a few and no joy. most of the lights that work light up the gas gauge, voltometer and tach/oil gauges well but I just took a drive and I can't see how fast I'm going or read my temp very well. My first thought was maybe I mixed up some of the colored bulb housings? Could that effect the circuit at all? Should I just replace all of the bulbs? Any help or ideas would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

Make sure the dash dimmer control is set at the bright position, then using a voltmeter or test light (the type for testing for voltage, not a continuity tester) probe both sides of the INST LPS fuse.

If there is no power there check for power on the
orange wire at the headlight switch.

Then check for power on the
dark green wire at the headlight switch.

Is there power on both wires?

Both sides of the fuse are hot. Should I still check the headlight switch orange and dark green wires?

Nope.

Power on the fuse means you have power on those wires.

You have a bad connection on the circuit from the
gray wire from the INST LPS fuse to the bulbs in the dash.

On the back of the dash, looking from the back, the right side connector contains the pin for illumination.

You should see where the
gray wire enters.

Make sure that pin is making tight contact with the connector.

If it is, and there’s power there, the problem is on the circuit ‘board’ in the dash.

If your turn signal indicators work, you will know that the ground for the bulbs is good.
