VATS need help!
What I'm working on is a 2000 SS. Well what happened was my stock steering column screwed up so I bought one off ebay. It was suppose to be a manual column but the sent an auto. Anyway I put it in and as expected the car won't start. So I get the right resistors to make the 887 number 4 key. Well the car fired right up and ran. Well I turned the car off and it wouldn't start back. I pushed on the resistor and it fired back to life but wouldn't start back so I decided I would just cut the wires the next morning and splice it in that way. Well now the car won't do anything. I've tried 4 sets of resistors (took 2 to make the 887), I dried them with a cig lighter thinking they may have got wet from rain, I've let it sit, unhooked the battery. Is it possible its because I actually cut into the wires? Thanks

You would have to put your old key barrel into the new column to use your correct old key or get a new #4 key blank cut to suit the lock in new column
