trunk help

I have a 1989 camaro RS the wiring was a mess so I brough a used rear pannel from a firebird with rear dome light & trunk motor wiring attach, I notice the diffrent wire colors. I wired it up the best way i can the trunk opens when I use the key to unlock it an trunk being to move up. When I close the truck down the motor wont pull the trunk down close. I also dont have a trunk lease switch mounted in the center console but dont know if this was a standard item. Does anyone have a wiring diagram of the complete circity that will help me make this tunk system work.

Re: trunk help

The red with white stripe wire is +12 for the pull-down motor. It connects to a blue wire. The black wire with a ring terminal on the end is the ground wire for the pull-down unit. The entire wiring for the hatch pull-down unit is included with the striker-sensing switch. I have refurbished and tested striker-sensing switches available. Normally you can order them online at my web site, but the site is down temporarily. We're updating the site to run on new software. Call me to order the switch or to answer any other questions.
