fuel pump wiring

i have an 84 camaro that i bought a few days ago. the car has been sitting around for a year.i had to replace my fuel pump today so i made a trap drop above the tank. i have the fuel assembly out and everything and i replaced the fuel pump. so i connected it to the wiring harness just to make sure thier were no electrical problems, but there is an electrical problem cause the fuel pump doesnt make any noise, to make sure the fuel pump was connected right i connected the wiring from the fuel pump to a battery just sitting in my garage and the fuel pump works by doing that. the fuse is fine

Pump Slump

There is a Fuel Pump Prime Connector for testing the aforementioned.

It’s located near the right rear of the engine compartment.

It’s a one wire (18 AWG
red wire) connector poking out of the harness.

It’s not plugged in to anything.

Apply power and listen for the pump.
