Vats info needed, bypass module application

Bypassed the key pellet years ago, no problems until this morning. Started right up. Shut off to buy gas, no start. I got it hauled home and later it started right up. Sure like to eliminate this situation forever. I see there's a Painless bypass module that eliminates this deal altogether and that's looking like the way to go at this point. But the listings for this start at 1990, mine's an 89 IROC. Anyone know if there's a difference? Who to ask? Also I did a search and see that Hawks also has a module. Anyone used this one? Hawks still a sponsor here? Thanks!
