Hatch Release 92 z28
Hatch Release 92 z28
I have a 92 z that i have spent about a year restoring at my buddies shop, his shops closing, car has to go.. its mostly done painted with ALLL new suspension, but thats another thread..
my problem is my harness is sitting on my k member, the whole harness. i redid my whole engine bay. car needed a rad support and a motor, i gave it a year.. but now.. there is no engine, solenoids, no nothing in the engine bay,(going ls so Gutted it all to start over) and as of most of you know - i had to gut 50% of the interior to do the paint job properly. But my switches and wires are intact inside the car for the trunk release, BUT its OPEN and as we know, no power, no closing
.
so NOW i have all new paint new seals and i need to get this trunk lid to close so the car seals (also need my windows to go up). Because it will now be stored outside. BUYING A CART PORT (TENT) for it. still sad it has to go outside. BUT anyway I NEED IT TO SEAL. SOOO im thinking ill put a battery in the lack of back seat and run a Power Probe to the motor and apply ground and power where needed at the hatch motors harness and use it as the switch to get it to suck the hatch back down - granted it will be uncomfortable and maybe not easy i just need it to go down 1 time, so keep that in mind, once its down i will not be opening it until after i put a motor in this thing, or atleast get ready for that stage.
Let me know if you guys have any input on what wire needs + and what needs -, or if this is not going to work somehow,
ALL INFORMATION WILL BE APPRECIATED

Re: Hatch Release 92 z28
I don't have a power motor in mine and it seals just fine, and I park it outside in Oregon...doesn't get any wetter than that! So far no water, and since yours is going to be under a "tent" I wouldn't think the hatch would be an issue really. As for windows couldn't you just take the door trim off and roll it up by hand?
