Hello to all, I have a "strange" issue with my speedo. It does not read speed or advance the miles until the car warms up/is running for 10 + minutes. I recently changed out to a new cluster because my tach did not work. I eneded up upgrading to LED's & now my tach works, but SAME issue with the newer cluster.

So, I guess it not my cluster, since the one I just replaced does it as well. To summarize, speedo does not read speed or miles until the car warms up, then works PERFECT. At least until the next time the car has sat for a while & is completely cool.....?????

 

kinda sounds like the magnet in the sender is loose or
someting and does not rotate untill the tranny warms up
some...Would think that would light the CEL with a VSS
code though.

 

I will do some trouble shooting & let you know. Where is the sender??

 

it's on the tail housing of the tranny-same place the
cable would connect on a cable driven speedo.
