Noob Alternator Question - how many wires?

I'm changing my 1985 Camaro to a the the 1990 - 1992 MAP setup including new ECM and wiring harness. I'm also upgrading the engine to a 383 and want to get a new high output alternator.

I've been doing a lot of looking and am confused on if I want a 1-wire, 2-wire, etc. Not sure if the new ECM setup needs anything special or not. I'm also going to be running an Autometer volt gauge if that changes what I need.

If someone can point me in the right direction as to what type I need, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Re: Noob Alternator Question - how many wires?

original '85 era would have 2 or 3 wires going to it:
-a big output wire,a small switched ignition wire, and
a small wire for voltage regulator feedback-sometimes
(as on my crossfire)the regulator wire is just connected
to the output stud;2 wires to the alternator with that
connection style.
