Starter solenoid engage wire has splice at firewall connector?

Starter solenoid engage wire has splice at firewall connector?
Just wondering what could possibly be spliced into the starter engage circuit, its a factory splice in the firewall connector, I don't NEED to know, just curious...I was unable to find where it went on wiring schematics, just that something was spliced to it, no idea what though.
