Should I get a fuel pressure gauge, or Air/Fuel...or something else?
I'm going to try to make this as short a story as possible. My stock gas tank was bad, so I replaced it with a plastic LS1 tank. After spending hours of brainstorming and calculating I discovered there would be no way to make my stock fuel gauge read 100% properly. That left me with the choice of replacing the fuel level sender, or getting an aftermarket gauge. I'm planning on eventually swapping to an LS engine (most likely LQ4) and I know the PCM monitors fuel level, so I don't want to change the sender. So I'm getting an aftermarket gauge.
I got a three gauge pod, so one of the three gauges will be fuel level. The second will be a volt meter gauge (I have two batteries installed isolated with an automatic relay, so I'd like to be able to monitor the voltage of each separately).
I'm not sure what to get for the third gauge...I'm leaning towards fuel pressure or air/fuel ratio because I have an LS1 fuel pump installed now and I want to make sure everything is working properly but I'd like opinions on which of the two would be more beneficial or if I should get something completely different. Right now I have a 305 TBI, pretty much stock. the PO removed the cat but that's about it. I'd rather get something that will continue being beneficial after the swap so I'm not wasting money.
All opinions and recommendations are greatly appreciated! Thanks!
