Headlights randomly turned off. Scared to drive anymore..
I own an 1987 Iroc camaro and tonight when I started pulling into my driveway, my headlights randomly shut off.
Everything else was running, interior lights, radio, engine
But the headlights just randomly shut off...They popped back on after a second though.
And as I was driving down my driveway they shut off again, then back on in a couple seconds.
Im going to check connections tomorrow, including battery voltage and to see if my alternator is going bad ( was only drawing 11 volts on my gauge when driving)
Is there anything that I am missing that I should check?
PS
My car also stalls randomly when driving slow, or sitting still...RPMs start at 1000, drop to 750, 500, then off.

The alt is not causing the problem.
Something in the headlight circuit is drawing too much OR the circuit breaker in the headlight switch is defective.
Use an ammeter to find out.

Well I just checked the alt a little while ago.
Battery started out at 14.7V and withing 5 mins of sitting idling it was down to 13.5V
Gonna take it for a drive and test it then.
(still has the original alternator in it xD)
