electric trunk switch not working, help please

The trunk switch in my center console is not working i replaced the button but that didn't work, but when i use the key behind the license plate it opens fine. is there any wires or other things i can check? thanks

You can start by checking that your parking brake is set (on manual cars) or the shifter is in Park or Neutral (on automatic cars).

I have the same issue. I got a 6speed swap with autometer gages. When I press the hatch button I have my brake light on the dash light up. Wondering if thats normal? I have got it to work in the past but now it doesnt

If you hear no *CLICK* when you press the Hatch Switch, check the ACC, and GAGES fuses for power on both sides.

Also: when you apply the Parking Brake, does the dash BRAKE

Im having a similar issue. I have 2 wires that I think go to the hatch. I have a green and a blue. I hook them up and the switch does not work. I just did a T56 swap so do I need to modify the green wire as it doesnt go to the auto shifter... If I use a test light from a ground and touch the same terminal the blue wire is on the hatch works.
