STRANGE RED WIRE

previous owner has a red wire running from the coil wiring to the large red or orange wire on the fuel pump relay.why would a person do that.Was it a way to byepass vatts.its a 89 firebird with a 2.8

Yup, that's a very sought-after mod, everybody wants one.

If I had to make an educated guess, I would say that the PO's ignition switch was going bad and not providing power to the coil so they simply put full power on it at all times. Sure beats fixing it right, right?

Just for s&g, this is what I pulled from my car the day I got it.
How many splices and wire nuts do you need to run two cooling fans???
