How do I mount an external coil?
I'm installing a small cap HEI distributor with a remote square coil. Because of the shape of the coil (it's a MSD-8226), I can't bolt it directly to the firewall like I wanted. I've been searching around for a bracket of some type and I can't seem to find one. Just wondering if one actually exists or if I'm just going to have to fab up my own. Thanks.

Re: How do I mount an external coil?
It's going a 383 stroker with a HSR setup. I have a small cap HEI distributor that needs an external coil. The car is a 1985 Camaro but I swapped out the ECM for the speed density one.

Well both the later TPI and TBI motors that use that dist/coil setup have brackets for the coil. Perhaps you could get one of those at the JY and find a suitable place to mount it. Or you could use that as a basis to fab your own
