Light switch, Red Wire.
The main light switch (in the dash panel where you turn it to turn the lights on) there are a couple wires coming out of the back. Going to the high beams and all that. Then there is a red power wire.
Does this wire go to the fire wall and then the battery or does it go to the ignition wires. From my ignition there is one large red wire then it splits off into two smaller gauge wires around 8-10. I'm assuming one goes to the fuse box and the other maybe to that light switch.
But then I was thinking maybe the light switch red wire goes through the firewall and both those red wires go to the fuse box?
If someone could provide some insight on this it would be awesome, thank you!

Re: Light switch, Red Wire.
According to the diagram, the red power wire from the headlight switch goes into a splice S201 and then continues to the firewall connector (C100) through which is gets power from the starter solenoid hot terminal (via a fusible link).
The other wires from the splice S201 go to the fog-light relay and the fuse box as well.
The ignition switch is powered from a different red wire, per this diagram.
Hope this helps.

No, that does not look anything like my wiring diagram. I have no pink wire going to my starter, instead the pink wire goes to my Distributor. Purple goes to the starter.
Yeah that wiring diagram is for another car I think. Mine is just a plain 88 Camaro TBI.. But I converted it back to a carb with a HEI distributor non computer controlled. So I I only need a few wires to actually start it.
But Im almost positive this wire goes to the power wires coming from my ignition switch. Because then it runs through the firewall to the battery where Ill have power when I turn the lights on, correct? It seems right in theory. I have the Haynes manual but It seems like they left out some things.
Ill let you know how far I get, think Ill try and start it tomorrow!
