HI. ill start off by saying that i never messed around with ANY distributor before.so im clueless here...im just trying to hook up my tach gauge.And instructions say to connect to a "direct tach output lead"..I see a small box on the drivers side of the dizzy. it says TACH BATT on it. then there is 2 plugs coming from that box. one is red and one is white...Am i supposed to splice into one of these wires? any help is greatly appreciated. thank you

 

The white wire is the tacho signal you require but you should be able to find and splice into that wire under the dash
so you don't have to run a new wire all the way into the engine bay
