So I tore into my headlight motor today
I'm fairly certain this motor has been repaired before as I wouldn't think these things were weather sealed with acrylic painter's caulk from the factory (though I could be wrong) and the internals look good, grease is still fine, except for this. WTF is it, what does it do, and where can I find a replacement? For clarity I am referring to the square piece on the shaft immediately after the spring that also has a piece pointing up. There were originally two I'm assuming as I found one of them in pieces out of the same motor...

I don't think you can get that hardware from an online store you might have to get a hard part like that from the junkyard and swap it in.

Pretty sure I'm not going to find it online either. And its damn near impossible to find third gen firebirds around here let alone one with the motors still on the car. I'd really hate to buy a new headlight motor just for this one piece as the motor itself is still fine, it just wouldn't move the light (probably because the broken piece was binding the motor up).
