Coolant Temperature Sending Unit Wiring
In the process of swapping out my old ECM & wiring harness for the '730, I found that the previous owners had cut or disconnected some wires. One of them was the wire that was for the coolant temperature sending unit for the temp gauge.
I have the wire end, but I have no idea what it's supposed to go to. And I can't even figure out the color it's supposed to go to because the piece of wire i have is literally 4 separate pieces twisted together. It looks like the end is green and I assume that it goes to the underhood wiring harness someplace (the one that goes back into the car near the steering column). Any advice/thoughts on how to figure this out is appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Coolant Temperature Sending Unit Wiring
Using my car as the example, it's a green wire and it will attach to the sender on the block located between the two spark plugs closest to the front of the car on the drivers side of the engine. I just replaced my sender and since its male end was flat, I used a female spade as a connector. It may be different for your car, as you didnt specify year or engine size.

Re: Coolant Temperature Sending Unit Wiring
My car is a 1985, but I swapped out the stock 305 for a 383. It was when I was removing the harness that I noticed the wire was broke. So I'm not even sure where the other (non-sender side) goes. I assume it goes inside the "body" harness someplace but I don't know where.
I think I'm going to have to start from scratch and run a new wire from the sender inside the car to...something.
