Engine: 5.7 350 TPI
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: 2.77
Crank No Start
1989 Iroc has 40lbs Fuel pressure, Spark, good injector pulse, will take twenty cranks or so to start after it has sat for more than 6 hrs. everything seems to check out. Any ideas?

trun the key foward and let the fuel pump prime, then turn the key off and wait 10 sec. turn the key foward and let the pump prime again. repeat this 2-3 times then try to start the car, if it fires right up then you looking at a fuel presure check valve. unfortuneatly its usualy built into the pump and if it were me, id wait for the pump to fail before changing it.

When did you measure the fuel pressure? While cranking when it won't start?
Do you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the ignition on?
If you spray fuel (carb cleaner or similar) into the intake prior to starting after 6 hours, will she start?
