wiring nightmare
Well long story short I have a 86 z28 iroc was a 305 fuel injected and then some back yard know nothing put in a 350 with Carb and left about a thousand wires that don't hook up to anything. Slot are hot all the time and the electric fan was super rigid a hot wire used a red 18 gauge wire as the negative wire so I ripped that out now to my questions how can I fix it plus remove all the wires laying around and wire my two aftermarket guages right or do I need a professional to do it if so is a Chevy dealership the best and is it going to cost more then the car is worth? Any replay will help love the car but am growing tired thanks

Re: wiring nightmare
He may have actually done you a favour, leaving the factory wiring intact instead of hacking it off randomly as most guys seem to be so madly intent on doing. You can then easily restore factory functionality in future if you choose; just tuck anything unused out of the way for now. Remove the ecm harness entirely and store it away.
As for the fan(s) control, it does have to be 're-engineered' now that the ecm is not doing it. An aftermarket fan controller of some type would be best, temp switch next best, or toggle switch if you don't mind the inconvenience. Or at least wire straight to the ign thru a fuse if you are really lazy

Ok trying to get a feel for what you are dealing with - pics would help. There are a lot of cut wires? - ie it IS a hack job?
