New Hatch Question

So since my iroc will no longer be an automatic for 1(no safety release wiring needed) for two i will be using the release switch in the 96 dash, 3 i dont mind not having the electric pull down so here comes the ? what wires release the hatch there should be a ground a positive to the switch and positive from the switch to the battery correct? heres two pics for reference

Just the black one that looks like it has a splice in it that connects to the bullet shaped thing pointed towards the driver's side wheel... The solenoid grounds through itself to that black wire on the one bolt holding it to the motor assembly.

I have a question also. My motor stopped working and i was wondering if there is a fuse for it? If not is there a way that sense the pull down does not suck the hatch all the way down, is there a way to get it all the way down in place???? It does shut and latch but i dont like the gap. Just until i get it fixed right.

The 3 mounting bolts seen in the pic have adjustment holes...

The fuse is the LID fuse in the fuse panel. May or may not be part of the panel itself, it may be a separate fuse in a holder attached to the main panel. It's a green fuse.

So using that ground and running the other black wire to the switch and a positive out of th switch to the battery would work?
