The cruse control has always worked great but starting the other day it began acting up. When I turn it on and hit the set button on the end of the **** the car starts accelerating with no signs of stopping. After about 30mph increase I turned it off knowing that something was wrong. I've tried it several times since then and have the same problem each time.

What do you think could be wrong?
