repinning gauges cluster help?

Im in the process of changing my 84 trans am to a 86 trans am gauge cluster to get the 140 speedo and i know the pins need to be switched around in the connectors for this but im having problems getting the pins out of the connectors? so what is the trick? ha

I don't know about those specific connectors, but usually you slip a thin narrow blade on one side of the contact to push down a tang that locked when the wire was pushed into the connector. Depending upon the connector I've had luck using a tiny jewelers screwdriver.

You looked at the link I provided, right? You could try cutting a plastic soda straw and making a tool that will slide in between the contact and the plastic shell. The wire always comes out the way it went in and you insert the tool from the mating end of the connector. You usually have to fiddle around with it pushing and then pulling on the wire while pushing the tool in from the other way. You'll have to figure out which of the four edges has the tang. Hopefully there won't be two tangs across from each other.
