V-6 tach into V-8 Cluster

Car: 1989 IROC-Z Convertible
Engine: 5.7 TPI
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3:23 Posi w/ alum. driveshaft
V-6 tach into V-8 Cluster
I came across a V-6/stick shift car that has a 6000 RPM redline tach & was wondering if anyone has swapped one into a V-8 TPI car. If so, what changes are needed to make it work since the V-6 sends a different signal then the V-8.
