Fuel sendeing unit

Hi Everyone,
As I stated in other posts my car was forced to sit for a really long time, and it had some gas in it that went bad...
So I ended up needing to get a new gas tank. The old gas had basicly turned to varnish. The new tank came yesterday (Spectra). Because Im on a budget, Ill be ordering the fuel sending unit and fuel pump this week and than the new straps next week.
My choices in brand seem to be either Doorman or Spectra for the f.s.u. kit
Any suggestions or opinions here between the two brands? The Doorman is a few bucks cheaper, but, pretty much, and over al, l they both are fairly close in price.

The last time I replaced the fuel pump, I ended up doing it in my driveway, and my gas gauge never really worked much after that, but I needed the car as a daily driver back than, so I just lived with no gas gauge...

I figure since Im already replacing the fuel tank and the fuel pump due to the varnish from that old gas, its time for a new sending unit kit. I figured I would just go with a new ac delco brand fuel pump, unless anyone has any better suggestions.

Having done this job basically once (dropping the tank, exhaust and lowering the rear) a long time ago, I have to say that I STILL remember just how much that process sucked at the time.

My goal is to secure all the parts I need over this winter to get my car up and running and back on the road for the spring.
Man I cant wait to drive this car again, Its been over 5 years

Anyway, thank you all for your input and help and have a great day

Re: Fuel sendeing unit

I believe that the bro's on thirdgen do not like the AC Del co parts that come from China or Mexico. I would read a little more but I think they like the Walbro brand of fuel pump. I not sure I spelled that right, good luck.

Do some searching for the right part number, but you want a Walbro pump I believe. You might look at parts prices from www.rockauto.com
