charging issue

Engine: 5.0 v8 H.O
Transmission: auto
Axle/Gears: 700R4 auto overdrive
charging issue

hi when the car is idleing the volt meter on the dash says 14.8 or 9 and when i rev it it up to nearly the up to red down to idle down to 14.8 or 9 when switch on the hazzards the headlights it drops abit when they turned off back to 14'8 or 9 but when switch on the a/c it drops to under 13 volts even when just the blower is on is that normal

If your battery is not going dead at it starts every time I would say everything is normal. You can run it to a battery shop and they will check your charging system and battery, but it sounds fine to me.

hi the battery is bran new and and it starts first time i thought that if nearly going to the red it the wiring mite catch fire i'm just being extra careful to make sure everything is working correct cheers

The gauges on our cars are not all that accurate many have noticed. The AC does draw some juice though and like I said battery shop will usually check for free. Good luck.
