HELP! 91 camaro rs v6 will not crank
i bought a camaro last night, and it ran fine untill i attempted to install an aftermarket tach. the key turns but does not crank. seems like the car was stuck in gear or there is a bad connection from the ignition switch to the starter. i also have a theory the the starter relay could have gone bad but im not sure, possibly vats? i have no idea what im doing with this and could use a much help as possible thanks
Re: HELP! 91 camaro rs v6 will not crank
I personally had a vats problem after my ignition switch got stuck. after beating it with a hammer to get it lose my vats in the key went bad. so with that said. Measure ur resitor on the key. It should have some kind of ohm number. The key probably should read one of these numbers

Get to the starter relay, it should be behind the kick panel on the drivers side, you'll find three large wires and one small black/white, jumper a wire from ground to the black/white, if the car cranks over (it will not start), then vats is your issue, if it doesnt crank you could have a bad relay, neutral or clutch switch, or ignition switch, but that will get you started.
