blinker and hazzard problem
I'm in the middle of restoring my car from the ground up. When the dash was put back together I ran into a blinker and hazzard light issue. All the lights work perfect - headlights and brake lights. When I turn my headlights on both blinker arrows on the dashboard light up. When I turn the hazzards on all of the interior lights flash. Also when the blinkers are on they are very dim and all of them blink. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be or have run into a similar situation? I have checked all of the wiring and everything looks to be in place and all of the bulbs are good. I'm hoping it is something simple. Thanks in advance.

Re: blinker and hazzard problem
Sounds like a ground issue. The dash has a ground, make sure to "shine" up the ground connections. (no paint) Check all ground connections.

Re: blinker and hazzard problem
I was up until two in the morning pulling wires and they seem to be good. I did notice a few things though. My front side marker lights don't work. When I hooked a test light to them they work but when a bulb is in they don't.... Seems like a ground to me but I checked them and they all seem to be good. When I have the blinker on all the lights flash very dim but when I turn on the running lights the blinking stops. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the switch in the steering column or if I'm missing a ground wire that controls those side marker lights. Any Ideas????

Re: blinker and hazzard problem
If you had the dash out, there is a printed circuit on the back of the bezel housing that plugs into the wire plug. The connection is a press fit onto copper printed circuit, maybe the connection is green corrosion or a broken tab. I have also patched the printed circuit that was cracked or broke with a dab of solder. There are also ground connections on the dash. 90% of all lighting problems are a bad or no ground to complete the cicuit. If your lights work with the switch, the switch should be ok.

Re: blinker and hazzard problem
I found the issue. Who ever owned the parts car I took the wiring harness out of did some rewiring and didn't do it properly. I though it was a ground because when I took the side marker light bulb out and put a tester everything would work. Put the bulb back in and it wouldn't. Come to find out they weren't grounded. The ground wire in the light socket (which is brown not black) was hooked to the brown flasher wire. I clipped the wire, attached it to a ground and it works.
Now there is a new problem. When I turn the right blinker on all the lights blink. Same thing when I put the left one on. Also when the hazzards are on all the lights blink like they are supposed to but the dash and interior lights blink also. I'm thinking it might be the turn signal switch in the steering column. Any ideas before I start the fun job of taking the column apart?
