No injector pulse?
No injector pulse?
Hey guys, I'm new to Camaros! I've been working on this thing for a while now, so I know a little but I'm a Toyota truck guy.
The vehicle is a 92 rs with the 2.8
The short version: I'm getting no injector pulse, but fuel through the rails and back into the tank. My relay was blown, but when replaced, car still doesn't get any injector pulse. I am getting spark.
The problem? I get off of work, get into my car, and try to start it. It won't start! I eventually tow it home, and completely forgot you could hear the fuel pump start, so I start the key and nothing. Can't hear it prime, nothing. Pull the fuel pump out only to jump it and see it work. Cool? Nope. Throw the beast back in the tank, wired it to a switch and then to the fuse box so it would only turn on when the key turned to the on position. Now, I turn the key, I hear it prime and run, yet when I try to start it NOTHING! I do get spark, my ignition module is new and my distributor still works fine. I then take off the fuel pump relay (there were 3 bunched together) only to find one of the metal tabs was exploded. Yay! Problem found, right? Wrong. Replaced the relay only to have the car still fail to start. This is when I got a NOID light/tester and found I have absolutely no injector pulse at all (at least on the easy-to-reach injector closest to the distributor cap doesn't get a pulse) and so I am stuck. I can see in the schematic for the wiring diagram that there is an in line fuse "in line fuse 3" somewhere but I can't find it to check it!
Any help appreciated guys
thanks!

Re: No injector pulse?
You need to start by checking to see if the computer has stored any codes. Your fuel injectors are controlled by the ecm.

the part stores used to carry a code key that you plug into that data port on the lower part of the dash (drivers side) Doubt they are around anymore but you can use a paper clip to jump the two terminals and count how many times the engine light flashes to give you your trouble codes. Look it up its easy to do!
