need help with blower motor wiring

I finally got around to replacing my leaky heater core a few days ago. The heat wasn't blowing out so I though the blower motor was shot too. I tested that and it does work but not when plugged into the relay. So I replaced the relay and still nothing. Last fall I removed half of the AC parts including a wiring harness that connected to the blower motor I believe. Since I only want the heat and no AC can the big red wire off the blower motor relay just be connected to power? I don't think that is currently connected to anything. Here's a pic of that

Here is the harness I found. Do I need this still?

Needs to be a fused supply or connected to the fuse it originally came from

Re: need help with blower motor wiring

I finally got around to working with this. I connected the power wire to a fused 12v source and nothing. I used a test light and have power at the wire connection, but with the key on and the heat turned to high I did not have power at the positive blower motor connector. Any ideas now?

I gave you the circuit diagram above to work through.

If the relay is not being operated ( does it click on ?) check the wiring back to the fan speed switch and the switch
itself that turns Hi speed on.
If the relay is being operated check the wiring from the relay to the blower motor
Do blower low speeds work ?

I am sort of in this same situation. Where can I hook my red blower motor wire up to? I have a highly modified harness and was told I need to use a key on power source.
