what is this block for?
this is on the left kick panel of an 87 IROC. I'm trying to track down a wiring issue.

well then maybe i'm onto something.....power goes in, but doesn't come out! door locks, cig lighter, radio....none of these work and the fuses are good....maybe some corrosion on the contacts?? everything has been really clean on this car? suggestions?

Radio desnt get connected there tho. everything else does. Check the back of the fuse panel to make sure its still pluged into the back of it as it might not be. You can check it for corrosion as well and clean it up to eliminate that possibility too

Re: what is this block for?
well the block was a power transfer point.....and it wasn't the problem...the fuse was fine too....BIG MYSTERY! ended up being micorscopic corrosion on the fuse blades and the receptical for the fuse...try polishing up your fuse and shine a light into the socket....it MIGHT be your problem too...although through my research there are a variety of things that will give you these symtoms...
