87 Trans am Cluster fuse??

Hey guys, 1st post here so bare w/me lol. Last night I bought a 87 t/a 305 tpi(awesome car) but for some reason I forgot to check the dash lights before I bought it. Well the instrument guages do no work. I looked at the fuse box and notice there wasn't a fuse in the "cluster 10" slot. Also there werent even any prongs in it to connect a fuse. I'm really confused as I have not been able to find any info on this anywhere. Please help, cant drive @ Night!!!

Re: 87 Trans am Cluster fuse??

I would start by looking at the back of the fuse box where all the wires are and make sure the prongs havent been pushed out or removed from the box. The wire/prong you're looking for is a pink/black wire. Thats the wire going to the cluster for illumination and gauge operation. The other wire you will be looking for will be the 12v supply wire for the fuse coming from the battery. My guess is that it will be a red wire, could be orange but dont hold me to that. Probably be the only other wire at that location where the fuse plugs in, unless the harness is really butchered back there and wires are all cut up.
