bad failure to wiper motor assemby

The wiper motor circuit board has been burnt ut and needs t be replaced.
Where d i find necessary parts to repair it? I am located in Greece and cannot afford buying a new assembly unit with motor. The unit is very heavy and shipping is much more than price for a new item.
Part number for wiper motor is #4960754#.

Hocus Pocus Where’s The Focus ?

The PCB is out of focus (always manually focus, don't let the camera do it) however it looks like the diodes burnt out.

If you have any electronic repair shops in your location they should be able to supply you with those.

Or you can get them VIA mail-order.

1N4007’s or equivalent will work.

If you focused I would actually be able to tell you which resistors to replace if necessary, and which traces, viewable from the other side of the PCB, might have to be jumped.

After replacing parts make sure you use a fuse to bench test it because there might be more shorted parts.

Can you tell me how many ohms is the blue resistor and what type?
whre can i find the right one to buy it?

Hocus Focus

That large blue part is a Capacitor.

The photo is out of focus therefore you will have to read the ratings on the part.

It will be something like ‘1000 mfd - 20 WV’.

That would mean 1000 microfarads @ 20 working volts.

Good photos Katrav.

As you can see, one of the diodes is “broken”, it’s been destroyed.

If you know how to solder you can replace it.

If you don’t know how to solder you can practice on a scrap board until your skill is good enuff to repair your board.

When replacing diodes make sure the LINE printed on the end of the diode matches the position of the old diode.

You should take a photo of the back of the board so we can see if any traces are burned.

You then will need to unsolder one end of the other diodes, then use an ohmmeter to probe each diode.

I recommend using a low cost analogue meter, they are the fastest for this type of work.

With the ohmmeter set on the lowest scale (usually RX1) connect the ohmmeter across the diode and remember the reading.

Then reverse the ohmmeter leads and repeat.

Now, in one direction the reading should be very high, might not even move the needle.

In the other direction the needle will move approximately half way.

But if the readings are the same for both directions, the diode is bad.

The diodes appear to be 1N4004, therefore you can replace any bad ones with 1N4004, 1N4005, 1N4006, 1N4007.

You can test that
blue capacitor similarly, but only need to probe it in one direction to make sure the resistance is high.
