hello all since i have had this Trans Am it has always had an issue of the speedometer wont display my speed, it just reads 0. i have the digital dash setup, since my oil pressure/temp/batt. gauges were not working i also thought thats why i had no speedo. 375.00 later i had a new digital cluster in the car, which solved my oil/temp/batt. gauge problem but i still had no speedometer. i have had many cars in the past without a working speedo, (i just used the tach) but thanks to "injuneer" (Fred) i learned about so much the VSS helps control in a link he posted in another thread. this is something i wanna get fixed so i need some help this is the link he posted http://www.jagsthatr...eed-Sensors.pdf my car has the 4 output VSS buffer seen in the picture on 2nd page (first in pic). i have the VSS seen in the picture on page 4 (2nd in pic). it says that VSS was used in 84 and newer Corvettes, were these the same for the lt1 Trans Ams? or could someone have swapped that one in? i have not yet pulled my VSS from the car yet. when i purchased the car the previous owner told me i had to unbolt the VSS, take it out and re install it to get the teeth with the reluctor rings teeth meshed up but i dont know if he is right or not. he told me he took it out and hooked it to a drill and he say speeds registering on speedo as it turned. dont know if this helps if anybody has any suggestions on how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated
