distributor power wire

Ok so I have an 86 iroc z with the tuneport injection, I'm getting fuel but no spark. I checked the voltage at the distributor cap and had no voltage I believe the power wire went missing does anyone know which wire is the power? Or if there may be any other cause to the problem I'm having?

Re: distributor power wire

On a HEI dist ,the pink wire to the terminal marked BATT on the dist cap should have 12V with the key on.
The white wire on the TACH terminal is for obviously the tacho signal

Ok but when I looked my tachometer wire was orange and brown does that make a difference?(atleast thats what the guy said whi was helping me) And does the four pin connector have anything to do with powering the distributor?

On a car that old anybody could have done anything...........
All you need is 12V on the wire to the terminal marked BATT when the key is on

Those are the wires to the computer (the ECM ) that control the spark

Re: distributor power wire

Ok so I git it all hooked up and it starts and runs thanks. But now it will stall at like a red light it will start back up but when I'm in low rpms it'll kill. I'm thinking fuel pump or timing is off a little. I don't have a timing tab on the car I bought an aftermarket one but have no idea how to install it. Its a spectre timing tab. Any ideas on how to install it or how to time it better by ear?
