Wiring aftermarket switches

How's it going. I picked up a 90' rs a couple months ago. The guy that had it before me has a switch panel above the radio. The switches are for the water pump, fan, fuel pump, and the radio.. The only problem is the wires go straight to the battery with no fuses between. I'm not to good on wiring but I know they need a fuse somewhere to prevent the car catching on fire. I wanna clean up the battery and not have so many wires going to it as well. Any suggestions on what to do? Thanks...

Maybe buy a small fuse block and mount it under the hood somewhere. Here is one example; http://www.ebay.com/itm/ATC-ATO-4-way-Raised-Fuse-Block-/350758700574?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item51aad9061e&vxp=mtr

Re: Wiring aftermarket switches

I was looking into that. Now with that do I still have to run each to the battery? Or can I just run positive and one ground to the box and then go out from the box to the switches and out to what I'm running? I just don't want like 5 positive wires on the battery... Thanks..

Did you not watch the little video? There is a variety of ways to hook up blocks. I just gave you one example.

Hopefully it has been wired up properly and the switches operate the relevant relays
and don't just take power straight from the battery to the item?
