Fuel Gauge Sensor Wire

So since my fuel gauge is fried, I went and bough a new one tonight. Only issue is that, for the life of me, I can NOT find a wiring diagram for my car anywhere that includes the fuel gauge sensor sender wire. All I need is the color and approximate location of the wire. 82 Z28 automatic transmission.

Looks like a pink wire, Idk about that old of a car but i believe the cluster still has the 2 plugs in the dash where it slides into the pcb, you can find it there

Re: Fuel Gauge Sensor Wire

So I got it hooked up, but when I turn my car on, it sinks my gauge past full like too much power is being put to it. Ideas?

Re: Fuel Gauge Sensor Wire

Full deflection on the gauge indicates a break in the circuit, i.e. disconnected pink wire.

Re: Fuel Gauge Sensor Wire

I've always had an issue where a full tank always went way pass full, I just figured my tank sensor was out of range
