Tach

I am connecting a new tach to my 87 Camaro, My question is will I have any problems if I just tap the signal wire onto the green just befor it connects to my HEI dist. I want to leave the existing tach in the cluster working. Will I have any problems with back feeding or anything.

Why would you not connect to the existing tacho signal wire under the dash somewhere so you don't have to run another wire through the firewall to the HEI ?
