89 trans am 305 tbi

I have been battling a fog light issue for a while now and could use some help.

I was reading the wiring diagram for the 89 t/a's and apparently the relay is powered by a red and white wire that leads to "fusible link Rust"

does anyone know where this link is located?

-I replaced the fog light relay, and i still have no power to fogs.
(however the relay clicks every time i press the fog light switch)

-I tested the power to the relay and i get a reading of -0.04
Same reading to the power feed wire to the fog light connector.

so now im wondering if maybe this fusible link is bad, and could use some help finding it, has anyone come across this link before?

EDIT: the only fusible link i am aware of is the one next to the battery and that is good

 

Just pulled the fog light wiring harness out of an '86 Camaro. The fusible link was on the pigtail coming out of the back of the fuse block under the steering column. Hope yours is the same.

 

From the diagrams I have, it seems that the link is located under the hood on the driver side near the master cylinder. My wiring diagram shows 2 other links spliced together with the fog light relay link. The other 2 links go to the headlight door module. My diagram says "on light harness, near LH side of dash". I don't have an actual pic of it. My wiring diagram shows main battery power going thru connector C100(firewall connector next to master cylinder) into the interior to a splice that powers a lot of different items. From the splice, it goes back thru connector C100 to the engine compartment where it goes to the fusible link. So I'd say its around the master cylinder area(above it or below it) where the headlight door module is. It should be poking out of the harness and easily seen. Its a barrel looking thing with a wire going in and a wire coming out.

seems like the link was an additional fuse attached to the bottom of the fuse block (i say additional because it is non existent in the fuse box diagram) but i managed to see that it contained the red and white wire that the diagram pointed out.

in any case it ended up being good, and i managed to pinpoint the problem on the fog switch. again thanks for replies guys.. i know a lot of people had no clue what i was talking about judging by the views/replies on the thread lol
