Adding Power Accessories
Hey guys.
I bought a pair of kits from the Third Gen Ranch (great guys, by the way) to retrofit power windows, locks, and mirrors into my 87 sport coupe.
After a lot of reading on this site, I learned how the systems are basically plug and play, except that I didn't have the electrical junction box under the kick panel as my Camaro evidently came with zero options.
After a trip to the junkyard I got the junction box, and found where to put it. I had a plug available under the dash that plugged right in to the left hand side of the junction box (for "always on" accessories), and after a pair of quick tests, I found that the mirrors and locks will be plug and play as described.
The issue I am running into is that I don't seem to have a plug for the "ignition only" side where the power windows would draw power from. I found one pink wire and plug that comes out of the dash harness very close to the brake pedal, but 1) it doesn't reach, and 2) the plug wouldn't fit anyway.
The only other plug I have under the dash in the area is a 3-wire affair with one orange and two white wires, which obviously isn't right either.
Did I miss something at the junkyard? Is there another plug and wire that runs from the pink wire I described to the junction box?

Did you check the harness over pretty good in that area? The connector SHOULD be there and may be taped up with the harness. Unless you don't have the WDO breaker in the fuse panel, in which case you would need to go back to the yard and nab the entire wire out of the donor.

Negative, I looked and felt all along the harness, and here's what I have:
Picture 1 plugs into the left side of the junction, and tests indicate the power mirrors and locks will work fine.
Picture 2 is one orange and two white wires, i have no idea what it is for.
Picture 3 is the pink one I mentioned, which comes out of the harness very near to the brake pedal.
Also, there are only fuses in my fuse panel, no breakers. I'm guessing that will need to be looked into also.

Adding Power Accessories- Update and another couple of Questions
Okay!
I went to the junkyard again this morning, and picked up the pink wire harness that runs from the junction box on the right side to the fuse box.
I now have both sides of the junction box connected, and the junction box is mounted in the correct location, so progress!
First question: A quick look at my fuse box while I was hooking up the pink wire harness showed that in the slots for the circuit breakers the previous owner had stuffed a pair of 10 amp fuses. So, off to the parts store I went, and 35 amp circuit breakers don't seem to exist. I had a choice of 30 amp and 40 amp, so I went low with 30. Will that be alright?
Second question: Does anyone have a picture of where the power door lock module is mounted? When testing it I learned that it seems to also act as a ground point, as the actuators did not work unless it was touching the chassis, but I'm not 100% certain where it is supposed to go.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Adding Power Accessories
30A breakers are factory..
There is a thick piece of rubber with "SEALING" on it glued over a square hole near the door opening (behind the kick panel, down and to the left of the junction block as you look at it). Get rid of it. There will either be a screw hole or a dimpled square with a dot in the middle of it where the door lock module bolts to the body, on the left side of the square hole. The relays bolt up so that they are tucked into the pocket.
