Hello my fellow car peoples!!! I need a little help. I can't race my car until I fix my neutral safety switch. My car no longer has a computer so the stock one won't work! Any ideas on to what I can install to make it so my car won't start when I turn the key? And also how would I install said situation!! Lol!! Thanks in advance!

Re: Neutral Safety Switch
Has nothing to do with it.
The NSS is simply a cutout switch on the wiring from the key to the starter so taking the computer out has no efect on it.
Have you tested the switch to see if it actually works?
Has it got power on one side when key in start position?
Also knowing your year / car / trans would help getting a better informed answer.
Fill in your PROFILE so people don't have to guess

I'm sorry. I thought my profile was complete. I don't even know where the stupid switch is.

Re: Neutral Safety Switch
so you want to install a neutral switch then? it should already be there on the shifter if the car is auto. It might just be spliced together so you can start it in any position on the shifter. Its the thick purple and yellow wires on the shifter wiring. see if they are spliced together. If they are just reattach them to the pigtail that plugs into the shifter and it should be good to go

Re: Neutral Safety Switch
I thought the NSS was attached to the trans? Just about all 700R4s I can think of had them attached to the trans.

The New Neutral
The Neutral Switch does not need the Computer.
Just make sure the Neutral Switch is wired from the Starter Solenoid to the Ignition Switch start terminal.
