91 convertible - trunk power latch and tonneau cover switch doesnt work
I just bought the car and the trunk will latch, but doesnt pull the trunk down to the proper place. also the tonneau cover switch doesnt do nothing either. no clicks or solenoid noises. I checked the fuse "lid" and it was fine.
any common problems with these? is there an easy way to just bypass the power latch? Im ok without it as long as trunk sits in proper place and seals.

instead of playing around with the stupid thing that is completely unnecessary, i bypassed the tonneau cover switch by jumping the 2 wires together and then removed the motor for the trunk pull down. then i could stick my finger in the gear and spin the gear to get the latch at the desired height - now the trunk opens and closes perfect as does the tonneau cover and ill never have to deal with that issue again.

89 IROC conv. Switch from auto to a T-5. Now the tonneau switch doesn't work. Any ideas?
Previously had a 92, 25th Ann with T-tops. As we know, in that car, the switch operated the hatch solenoid. To change that to opening a tonneau cover for a manual top is another example of idiot GM engineering.
I bought a trunk/hatch solenoid from Top Down and would like to change the switch to open the trunk.

Raymon, back again. Forgot to mention the previous owner had a Viper alarm installed and whoever did it really hacked up the wiring. I'm not afraid of wiring. I take it as a challenge. I built the complete under dash wiring harness for my 66 GTO.
