CRUISE CONTROL

CRUISE CONTROL IS NOT WORKING (DON'T KNOW IF IT EVER WORKED)

I'VE REPLACED THE ELECTRONIC MODULE, I'VE REPLACED THE CABLE AND THE VACUUM MODULE LOCATED BEHIND THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHTS. I'VE REPLACED THE MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH.

I'VE GOT ONE MORE THING TO REPLACE AND IT IS THE SWITCH THAT SCREWS INTO THE BRACKET ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. IT HAS A PLUG THAT COMES OFF OF IT AND A VACUUM LINE. THERE IS A LITTLE RED BUTTON ON ONE END THAT ALLOWS FOR THE BRAKE PEDAL ARM TO HIT IT.

WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS HOW THIS THING WORKS. DOES THE CRUISE CONTROL ONLY DISENGAGE AFTER I RELEASE THE BREAK PEDAL? OR DOES THE BUTTON HAVE TO BE PUSHED IN SNUG AGAINST THE BREAK PEDAL AND ONCE THE PEDAL IS PUSHED THEN IT RELEASES THE BUTTON AND DISENGAGES THE CRUISE? I'VE ATTACHED A PIC OF WHAT i AM TALKING ABOUT.

Re: CRUISE CONTROL

I believe that the cruise control switch you depicted should be pushed in all the way like the brake pedal switch. Thus when you hit the brakes, the switch activates and sends a signal to disengage.

Re: CRUISE CONTROL

Thanks! I meant to reply back before this was the ticket. Mine was busted and fortunately AutoZone still sells them.
