How are the headlight wires routed on an '86 Firebird? Under or Over?
Hey everyone!
My first post as I just got an 86 Firebird last night and I'm working through some of the bugs to get everything sorted.
One of my headlights was dim, which I assumed was a bad ground but actually appears to be at the connector. I'm going to pull them apart tonight, but I have a question about the correct routing of the wires.
On the drivers side (the dim one), the wire loom goes underneath the headlight assembly. This causes a little strain on the wires when the headlights go up.
On the Passenger side, the wire loom appears to be sandwiched between the headlight frame and the painted headlight cover.
Can anyone take a look on their car and tell me which is correct? I'm assuming the "sandwiched" version is correct, since it provides a more stable connection at the back of the lamp.
Thanks!
